July 2008 Wakeboard Camp

July 15th thru 17th Tige’ Team Rider Nick Wienacker held his first Gainesville Marina Wakeboarding Camp and WOW what a camp it was. Behind the scenes it was a mad 27 hour rush from Tulsa to Reno for Nick and his Wife Sonja in their veggie oil burning wakeboard touring Ford F250. Nick arrived at the Reno airport with just 30 minutes to spare before boarding a plane whisking him toward Atlanta and some anxious to learn wakeboarders. After a tight schedule, a lot of planning and some luck Nick arrived at Gainesville Marina on Tuesday just 30 minutes before his first day of lessons began at 12 noon.

We had three absolutely beautiful days on Lake Lanier for some wakeboarding. Each day began with six excited, nervous but anxious to learn wakeboarders. And as Nick does best, he made sure all the riders boards were sized and set up properly and began his discussion on the mental side of accomplishing the level of riding they all desired. Additionally, for some inspiration as well as amazement, Nick rode three to four time per day. A new feature we decided to add to the second and third day of the clinic is that we took the parents out in another Tige’ at the end of the day to watch Nick ride. As usual we were all amazed at what he can do on a wakeboard. Preston’s dad said “I have seen that on video and TV but never live. He is impressive.”

Randy Hymel father of Randall Hymel said: “Randall thoroughly enjoyed the clinic with Nick. A year ago he spent a week at Bennett's in Baton Rouge, LA. When asked to compare he just said, "I got more out of this one day with Nick than the whole week at Bennett's"!!! “

A special thanks to our sponsor Tige’ for helping get Nick to Gainesville for the clinic. Additionally, thanks to all who attended and for your continued support.
